Dr. Frank Alexis

I received my Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore). I worked 10 years in the USA as Research Fellow, then Assistant Professor at Clemson University, and tenured Associate Professor at Clemson University. In 2017, I joined Yachay Tech (Ecuador) as Full Professor. I was Vice-Chancellor of Research and Innovation at Yachay Tech from January 2019 until June 2020, where I managed all the research activities of the University. I have published more than 100 manuscripts and reviews, and book chapters. Among these publications, more than 80 are in Scopus and 8 publications in journals with an impact factor of more than 10. My research has been cited more than 8000 times (Sopus) and four of my recent research have been highlighted as cover art and frontispiece in leading journals. In addition to publications, I hold 18 intellectual properties, including 9 licensed to industry. I was listed in Nature Biotechnology as Top Translational Junior Faculty in 2013. I was listed in the 500 innovators and inventors of the Brigham and Women's Hospital (Harvard Medical School) and Top 1% cited scientist in the field of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in 2020. In 2021, I received an award from Yachay Tech for the best researcher of 2020.
