Alexis Métais

Alexis Métais is Global Pulp and Paper Key Account Manager at Xylem, the world’s leading supplier of ozone systems. He has served in this position since September 2015 after having joined Xylem in January 2008 as Sales Engineer and then worked as Business Development Manager. Alexis holds a Master in Pulp & Paper Sciences from the Grenoble University and a Master of Business Administration from the Lyon University.

Graduated in Civil Engineering at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1985), master's degree in Sanitation, Environment and Water Resources from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1990), doctorate in Chemical Engineering - University of Toronto (1999) and post-doctorate at Bioforest, Chile (2011). He is currently a full professor at the Federal University of Viçosa. He has experience in the area of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering, working mainly on the following topics: effluent treatment, solid waste, pulp and paper processes.

The International Virtual Seminar on Wood, Pulp and Biorefinery of the Federal University of Viçosa aims to promote the dissemination of knowledge in wood, chemical pulp and biorefinery based on lectures with world-renowned names of the sector. Our target audience are undergraduate, graduate students, teachers and professionals in Forest Engineering, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering with expertise in wood technology, cellulose and paper technology and biorefinery of lignocellulosic materials.
