Brunela Pollastrelli
Brunela Pollastrelli Rodrigues is a Bachelor in Forest Engineering and she holds her master and Ph.D degrees in Forest Sciences at the Federal University of Espirito Santo, Brazil. Her research area is Forest Products Technology. She has been worked with wood anatomy, wood identification, and wood properties in general. In the past years, her research focuses more on wood quality from forest plantations, especially studies related to the influence of abiotic stress and contrasting environments on eucalypt wood quality.
Two relevant abroad work experiences were her internship at the Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnica (CONICET), Mendoza, Argentina where she learned about dendrochronology techniques. And when she was a Visiting Student at the Forest Products Laboratory (US Forest Service / USDA), Madison - WI, USA, where she worked closely with the Nondestructive Evaluation team.
Besides the research activities, she also has teaching experience once she gave classes to Forest Engineering and Wood Industry Engineering undergraduates courses as a temporary professor.
Currently, she is a postdoc fellowship funded by the National Council for the Improvement of Higher Education (CAPES) in Brazil, working at the Graduate Program of Forest Science at the Southwestern Bahia State University (UESB).
