Resumo

INTRODUCTION Tendon rupture, when not treated properly, leads to restrictive functional deficiency. Adhesion is a frequent complication in the postoperative period. The use of the 1 mm MATRIDERM® dermal matrix (MedSkin Solution Dr. Suwelack AG, Billerbeck, Germany) surrounding the tenorrhaphy is a method of choice in the prevention of this complication. OBJECTIVE The objective of this study is to use the MATRIDERM® dermal matrix (MedSkin Solution Dr. Suwelack AG, Billerbeck, Germany) as a surgical complement in the prevention of adhesion in the postoperative period of tenorrhaphy. MATERIAL AND METHODS Female patient with a history of injury to the 5th left finger 4 months ago. On physical examination, loss of flexor function was observed. Tenolysis identifies flexor tendon stumps. Deep flexor tenorrhaphy, and use of the 1 mm MATRIDERM® dermal matrix, wrapping the tenorrhaphy; reconstruction of the pulley. RESULTS The postoperative result shows unrestricted flexor function of the 5th finger. CONCLUSION The use of the MATRIDERM® dermal matrix (MedSkin Solution Dr. Suwelack AG, Billerbeck, Germany), wrapping the tenorrhaphy, is an important method in preventing adhesions in the postoperative period.
