Summary
Environmental Acoustics plays a fundamental role in the planning and maintenance of spaces, directly impacting people's well-being and health. In the educational context, research indicates that noise levels exceeding the limits established by technical standards can compromise students' concentration, communication, and performance, as well as affect the health and well-being of the entire academic community. Considering this, this article presents a study of the soundscape of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the Federal University of Bahia, in Salvador - Bahia, Brazil, based on the collection of quantitative data—decibels recorded at each measurement point—and qualitative data—students' own perceptions. The survey highlighted the influence of the urban environment, dominated by adjacent traffic routes, and the local nature, marked by the presence of wildlife. As a result, an acoustic map of the campus was produced, which not only reflects the observed situation but also proved to be an important methodological tool to support possible interventions aimed at adapting the Faculty to existing noise conditions, as well as contributing to the development of future studies on the same topic.
