Resumen
Introduction: Acute low back pain interferes with people's quality of life, as it can generate inability to perform basic daily tasks, absence from work, excessive spending on medications, factors that cause physical and mental changes in the individual. In the studies carried out, it was found that the use of Vascular Photobiomodulation (VPBM) collaborates with the increase of blood oxygenation, tissue repair and analgesia. Objective: To evaluate the effect of MVBF, associated with manual therapy and exercise, in patients with acute low back pain. Methodology: In this pilot study, 20 patients aged between 18 and 65 years with complaints of acute low back pain (in the period between the 2nd and the 7th week of pain) will participate, who will be randomly divided into 2 groups of 10, who will answer the Roland Morris Questionnaire, the Owestry Disability Index 2.0 and the Analog Pain Scale. The VPBM will have the following parameters: 660nm wavelength, 100mW power and 180J total energy. The first group will undergo BPPV (for 30 minutes), manual therapy and exercises; and the second will be submitted to BPPV Sham (inactive device - for 30 minutes), manual therapy and exercises. The total duration of treatment will be 4 weeks (1 times in the week). At the end of the treatment, the patients will answer the initial questionnaires again, which will be compared and the differences in pain level and functionality scores will be verified. The data will be analyzed by statistical tests, according to the data collected. It is expected that with this pilot study it will be observed whether there are needs for methodological adaptation and the feasibility of carrying out a more robust controlled clinical trial.
