VIII Workshop-School of Quantum Computing and Information & VIII Workshop on Quantum Computing - UFSC
In celebration of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ), two traditional Brazilian events are joining forces for a special edition: the Workshop-School on Quantum Computing and Information (WECIQ) and the Workshop on Quantum Computing (WCQ). This combined event, named VIII <WECIQ|WCQ>, will take place in Florianópolis, Brazil, from December 8 to 12, 2025, bringing together researchers, professors, students, professionals, and enthusiasts interested in the latest advances in quantum science and technology.
Whether you are looking to explore new ideas, establish collaborations, or take your first steps in this promising field, the event will offer a dynamic and interdisciplinary environment. With both national and international speakers, VIII <WECIQ|WCQ> aims to drive research and innovation in Brazil by promoting the advancement of quantum computing, communication, and metrology, as well as their applications in strategic industry sectors.
About Submissions
All submitted papers must strictly follow the templates provided on the event website. Submissions that do not comply with the required format may be automatically rejected by the Scientific Committee without merit review. For an accepted paper to be included in the event program, the presenting author (designated at the time of submission) must complete the registration payment.
Each registration fee allows the presentation of up to two (2) papers, considering the sum of Categories 1, 2, and 3, as described below:
CATEGORY 1: 2-page abstract (poster presentation).
CATEGORY 2: 5-page full paper (oral or poster presentation).
CATEGORY 3: Simple abstract (not published in the event proceedings).

Templates for preparing papers (available in both LaTeX and Word formats) can be accessed below. Papers may be written in either Portuguese or English. At the time of submission, the author must upload the file exclusively in PDF format.
To ensure the integrity and impartiality of the review process, each submission must include two PDF files:
Anonymous File
This file must not contain any information that could identify the authors, co-authors, advisors, or institutions. Anonymity is essential to ensure a fair and impartial review.
Identified File
This file should be a copy of the submission including the full identification of all authors and their institutional affiliations. If the paper is accepted, this file will be used for publication in the event proceedings.

CATEGORY 3 – Submission Guidelines
Simple Abstract Format:
The abstract must include the title and a descriptive paragraph about the work.
It is strongly recommended to include a link to a related publication (journal or ArXiv), if available.

Review and Presentation:
All submitted abstracts will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee. Only a limited number of approved abstracts, selected based on merit and relevance, will be invited for oral presentation during the event.
Proceedings Publication:
Abstracts will not be published in the event proceedings.
Note:
Abstracts without a publication link will also be accepted, provided all other requirements are met.
