The Fifth International Conference on Molecules, Polymers and Material Physics (MP2) will be held November 11–13, 2026, at the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM) in Manaus, Brazil.
MP2 is a well-established biennial international conference organized by the Graduate Program in Physics (PPGFIS) at UFAM since 2014. The conference was created to address the challenges posed by the geographical isolation of the Amazon region, where students and researchers often have limited opportunities to attend national and international scientific meetings. By bringing distinguished scientists from Brazil and abroad to Manaus, MP2 provides a unique platform for scientific exchange, promotes collaboration, and contributes to strengthening local research capacity and the internationalization of graduate education.
The scientific program focuses on state-of-the-art research in materials physics, polymer science, molecular systems, theoretical and computational physics, computational chemistry, and interdisciplinary materials research. Over three days, participants will benefit from plenary lectures delivered by internationally recognized experts, specialized tutorials, poster sessions, and opportunities for scientific networking.
The fifth edition of MP2 will feature lectures and discussions on emerging topics including functional nanomaterials, polymers and molecular systems, advanced materials for decarbonization and the energy transition, metal–organic molecular complexes, green chemistry, and the application of machine learning to molecular modeling, among other frontier research areas.
The MP2 Organizing Committee warmly invites researchers, faculty members, postdoctoral fellows, graduate and undergraduate students, and professionals from academia and industry to participate in this exciting event.
