About the event

The seventh edition of Sustentare WIPIS, to be held in November 2026, aims to bring together researchers, professors, students (at the secondary, technical, undergraduate and graduate levels), industry professionals and representatives of civil society to debate and formulate practical and evidence-based solutions on sustainability and responsible management of water resources. The event provides a high-level interdisciplinary space for the integration between research, teaching and public management, stimulating innovation, the formation of collaboration networks and the dissemination of technologies and monitoring indicators applicable to river basins. The realization of Sustentare WIPIS 2026 is based on a strategic partnership between three institutions with recognized expertise: University of São Paulo (USP), Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas (PUC-Campinas) and the Piracicaba, Capivari and Jundiaí River Basin Committees (PCJ Committees). Each partner contributes with complementary skills that expand the quality and reach of the event: PUC-Campinas through the Graduate Program in Sustainability (PPGS), USP with professors from the School of Public Health (Graduate Program in Environment, Health and Sustainability (ProASaS)/) and the PROFCIAMB Program (Graduate Program in the National Network for the Teaching of Environmental Sciences), and the PCJ Basin Committees through its Technical Chambers for the Protection and Conservation of Water Sources (CT-Springs) and for the Integration and Dissemination of Research and Technologies (CT-ID). This structure ensures the articulation between academic knowledge, watershed management practices and technological dissemination mechanisms. In this regard, Sustentare WIPIS 2026 will bring together academia, public managers, professionals and representatives of civil society to debate and build sustainable solutions, based on evidence, for the management of water resources. In the search for innovation, integration and practical application, the event aims to strengthen the connection between research, teaching and watershed management, stimulating collaboration networks and the dissemination of technologies and monitoring indicators.
