SEMINÁRIO INTERNACIONAL: “Mineração, Empresas transnacionais e Povos e Comunidades Tradicionais” - INTERNATIONAL WEBINAR: "Mining, Transnational Corporations and Traditional Peoples and Communities"

O Seminário Internacional tem os seguintes objetivos:

(1)   Discutir o “Projeto Minerário Volta Grande do Xingu”, a partir de diferentes saberes sobre as consequências negativas de sua implantação;

(2)   Dar visibilidade internacional aos atingidos pelo “Projeto Minerário Volta Grande do Xingu”;

(3)   Debater parâmetros de realização de consulta de prévia às populações tradicionais em contexto de pandemia;

(4)   Identificar e potencializar procedimentos judiciais e administrativos internos;

(5) Estimular planejamento, gestão e governança do Estado na implantação de projetos de infraestrutura e empreendimentos de grande impacto;

(6)   Capacitar atingidos para sua participação em debates públicos e deliberativos sobre o “Projeto Minerário Volta Grande do Xingu”.

The International Webinar has the following objectives:

(1) To discuss the "Volta Grande Xingu Mining Project" from different knowledges about the negative consequences of its implementation;

(2) To give international visibility to those affected by the "Volta Grande Xingu Mining Project;

(3) To debate the parameters of prior consultation with traditional populations in the context of a pandemic;

(4) To identify and enhance internal judicial and administrative procedures;

(5) Stimulate planning, management and governance of the State in the implementation of infrastructure projects and enterprises of great impact;

(6) Train affected people to participate in public and deliberative debates about the "Volta Grande Xingu Mining Project".
