The Escola Brasileira de Arqueometria e Ciências Aplicadas ao Patrimônio (EBRARQ) was first held in 2012 in Rio de Janeiro, at the Maracanã campus of the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). It was inspired by the Scuola Estiva di Archeometria, an annual program held in the province of Lecce, Italy.
This event brings together leading national and international experts in widely used techniques applied to cultural heritage studies. Its main objective is to promote a forum for discussion among students and specialists from diverse backgrounds, focusing on a broad range of experimental techniques used for the study, restoration, and conservation of cultural heritage assets.
In 2026, EBRARQ will be held jointly with SARX at the State University of Santa Cruz (UESC), in Ilhéus, Bahia, Brazil.
