4th Digital Congress on Nanobiotechnology and Bioengineering

The Digital Congress on Nanobiotechnology and Bioengineering (CDNB) presents itself as an important discussion forum for the scientific and business communities dedicated to research, development, and innovation in the fields of Nanobiotechnology and Bioengineering, constituting an opportunity for updating and training people who work or are interested in the areas.

In 2023, the 4th CDNB will be promoted by Embrapa Genetic Resources and Biotechnology, and will take place from June 13 to 16, 2023, online and free of charge.

This is an excellent opportunity for researchers, students, and the entire community to interact with renowned scientists and businessmen.

General Instructions

ABOUT REGISTRATION:

There will only be one registration per email/ID number;

The registration is individual and non-transferable;

The registration must be made only electronically in the period from 04/10/2023 to 06/11/2023;

Abstract submission will be from 04/10/2023 to 05/12/2023 until 11:59 pm (GMT-3);

All information will be automatically sent to the e-mail used to register on the Even3 platform;

If you already have an email registered on the Even3 platform, use the same email to register for the 4th CDNB.

THE REGISTERED PARTICIPANT WILL BE ENTITLED:

Access the complete schedule of the 4th CDNB on the website before the start of the event;
Have access to the Digital Certificate of Participation in the 4th CDNB by email or website (accreditation in at least 75% of activities*);
Have access to the Digital Certificate of Presentation of e-Poster by e-mail or website (upon presentation of e-Poster), for subscribers with abstract submission;
Access all event activities online.

*Activities counted: Scientific lectures (minimum of 12 registered and accredited scientific lectures).

REGISTRATION PERIOD:

With abstract: from 04/10/2023 to 05/12/2023 until 11:59 pm (GMT-3) (or until vacancies are sold out - 150 vacancies).

No abstract: from 04/10/2023 to 06/11/2023.

1. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

a. Abstracts will be accepted in the following themes*:

b. Abstract submission is free.

c. Only abstracts will be accepted that:

Be submitted within the deadline established by the organization of the event ( 04/10/2023 to 05/12/2023) until 11:59 h pm (GMT-3);
Are within the limit of 150 abstracts to be received by the 4th CDNB;
Are related to some of the topics covered in the 4th CDNB (see glossary);
Follow the rules for preparing abstracts established by the Organizing Committee;
The person responsible for the submission fills out and signs, on behalf of all other authors, the license to use the work (1st page of the abstract template) and the statement regarding compliance with the law n° 13.123/2015 and other regulatory frameworks related to the result (2nd page of the abstract template).

d. Each participant can submit only 1 (one) abstract as first authorship and can be a coauthor of other abstracts. All the authors are responsible for the content, novelty, and veracity of the information contained in the submitted abstracts;

e. The abstract should only be sent via Google Forms after registration;

f. The submitted abstract will be analyzed by the Scientific Committee of the 4th CDNB and the partial result will be sent to the person responsible for the submission by email by 05/19/2023, and the final result by 05/26/2023;

g. The analysis by the Scientific Committee of the 4th CDNB will cover the following aspects: clearly defined aims, adequate methodology, clearly presented results, and relevant conclusions;

h. The quality of the text (grammar and spelling) is the responsability of the authors and will be considered as an evaluation criterion;

i. Only 01 (one) certificate will be issued for each accepted abstract and presented as e-Poster/recording. It will contain the title of the work, the name of the presenter, and all co-authors as informed in the act of submission;

j. All accepted abstracts must be presented orally (Kumospace) to receive the certificate of presentation and be published.

k. 3 (three) works from each area of concentration (Nanobiotechnology and Bioengineering) will be selected, which will receive an honorable mention at the end of the event. The mention will be governed by these regulations, with the Scientific or Organizing Committees, by consensus or a majority of votes, deciding on omitted cases, and the score of each work will not be disclosed. The works will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

Adequacy to the theme, 10 points (5 points written evaluation + 5 points oral evaluation);
The actuality of the approach, 10 points (5 points written evaluation + 5 points oral evaluation);
Relevance of the study, 20 points (10 points written evaluation + 10 points oral evaluation);
Research innovation, 20 points (10 points written evaluation + 10 points oral evaluation);
Correctness, clarity, conciseness, and objectivity of written language, 10 points;
Mastery of the theme and clarity of the oral presentation, 20 points;
Adequacy to the time of oral presentation, 10 points.

2. ABSTRACT INSTRUCTIONS

a. Abstracts must be written in Portuguese or English;

b. The title must include the overview of the abstract and must contain a maximum of 120 characters with spaces;

c. The abstract will contain a maximum of 1500 characters including spaces;

d. The abstract should be about the study you want to present (of your authorship), presented in plain text;

e. The abstract should include: a brief introduction of the work, aim, methodology used, results obtained, and conclusion;

f. ABSTRACTS REGARDING RESEARCH PROJECTS WITHOUT RESULTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. IN THE CASE OF LITERATURE REVIEWS, ONLY THOSE OF THE SYSTEMATIC REVIEW TYPE THAT INCLUDE ALL THE ITEMS LISTED IN THE PREVIOUS SECTION WILL BE EVALUATED;

g. The abstract must be submitted strictly according to the model and instructions;

Rename the document to YourFullName, example: JoãoPereiradaSilva;

Sign up for the 4th CDNB and submit your abstract by Google Forms until 05/12/23 at 11:59 pm (GMT-3)

i. Your signature on the work use license term must be digital:

Sign a blank sheet;
Scan your signature (cut it so that it is well-centered);
Add your signature to the document in the indicated field.

Instruction for Oral Presentation

1. INSTRUCTION FOR e-Poster:

a. The e-Poster must be written in Portuguese or English;

b. Authors who have their work approved must send their e-Poster in PDF format by 06/04/2023 until 11:59 pm (GMT-3) using the Google form (LINK: Sent by email)

c. Your presentation area is free to use fonts, letters, sizes, and colors of your choice, as long as you respect the size of one (1) slide (33.867 cm wide x 19.05 cm high). You may use figures of your own authorship for presentation, however, remember that all the information contained therein must be visible and legible;

d. Within the e-Poster area, the author will have to organize his entire presentation (title, introduction, aim, methodology, results, and conclusion);

2. INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE VIDEO

a. The video consists of a screen recording where the author presents his/her e-Poster orally for up 5 (five) minutes, with audio and camera;

b. The recording can be made on the author's preferred platform: Zoom, Loom, Power Point, among others;

c. The video must be sent (in .mp4 or .avi format) via Google Forms (LINK: Sent by email) until 11:59 pm on 06/04/2023. Your e-Poster must also be sent at the same link in PDF format. Files should be named with the full name of the presenter.

d. The video must be a maximum of 10 MB (ten megabytes);

e. The videos will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee according to the aforementioned criteria.

3. INSTRUCTION FOR BROADCAST DAY:

a. The video transmission and question and answer moments will take place during the 4th CDNB from 06/14/2023 to 06/16/2023 in the morning (09:00 to 12:00 am);

b. The day and time will be informed by the Organizing Committee via email until 06/09/2023 and it will await the author's knowledge notification;

c. The Scientific Committee will have up to 5 (five) minutes of questioning for the author. The author must be present in the Kumospace virtual room on the day of the exhibition of his/her video.

4. FINAL INSTRUCTIONS:

a. All data, images, graphics, and other information contained in the slide or presented orally are the sole responsability of the presenter who will make the content public;

b. The e-Posters and videos will be available indefinitely on any 4th CDNB social media;

c. The presentations and Q&A sessions will be recorded and may be used for dissemination purposes on social media and Digital Congress on Nanobiotechnology and Bioengineering Channel.
