PRESENTATION
The Laboratory of Digital Humanities of the Center for Communication and Literatures (CCL-HD) of the Presbyterian University Mackenzie is honored to announce the call for papers for the I International Seminar CCL-HD, to be held entirely online in 2026.
Digital Humanities represent the confluence of humanistic critical thinking with computational tools and methods, opening new perspectives for content analysis, creation, and dissemination. In a scenario of constant transformation, where the boundaries between communication, technology, and the arts become increasingly blurred, this seminar seeks to foster dialogue and knowledge exchange among researchers, faculty, students, and professionals in the field.
The theme of this first edition will be “Expanded Communications in the Digital Age: Challenges and Opportunities“, inviting reflection on how digital technologies redefine narratives, audiovisual production, information curation, and engagement strategies.

OBJECTIVES
- Encourage scientific and technological production in the areas of Advertising, Languages and Literatures, Journalism, and Cinema, with a focus on Digital Humanities.
- Promote debate on tools and methodologies mediated by digital platforms and records.
- Establish links with researchers and Digital Humanities laboratories from other institutions in Brazil and abroad.
- Disseminate high-quality research that explores the intersection between communication and technology.

TARGET AUDIENCE
- Student and faculty of the Center for Communication and Literatures of the Presbyterian University Mackenzie and other higher education institutions.
- Researchers and professionals from units linked to Expanded Communications.
- Publishing houses, journals, and other external professionals interested in the topic.

THEMATIC AXES
Submitted works must fit into one of the following thematic axes:
- Data Analysis and Digital Narratives: Studies on data mining, sentiment analysis, and the impact of algorithms on narrative construction in digital environments.
- Digital and Interactive Literature: Research on new forms of literary creation, digital poetry, interactive fiction, and the use of technologies in textual analysis.
- Interactive and Expanded Cinema: Works exploring the use of virtual reality, augmented reality, and other immersive technologies in cinematographic and audiovisual experience.
- Interculturality, Digital Culture, Social Media, and Public Opinion: Analyses on the impact of social media, memes, and the formation of online communities in the public sphere and communicational processes.
- Digital Curation and Memory Preservation: Discussions on the challenges of digital content curation, online archives, and the preservation of cultural memory in the information age.

SUBMISSION OF WORKS
- Modalities: Works will be accepted in the form of Extended Abstract and Full Article.
- Articles must contain between 3,000 and 9,000 words in total (including references and other post-textual elements).
- Abstracts must contain between 900 and 1,500 words in total (including references and other post-textual elements).
- Languages: Works can be submitted in Portuguese, French, Italian, English, or Spanish.
- Formatting: Works must follow ABNT standards, using Times New Roman font, size 12, 1.5 line spacing, and 2.5 cm margins.
- Images must be inserted within the Word document and also sent separately in high resolution. Use the Word image caption feature.

- Citations must follow ABNT.
- Authorship: Works can be individual or co-authored by up to 3 (three) authors. No minimum qualification is required.

EVALUATION
The evaluation criteria include:
- Adequacy to the theme and proposed thematic axis.
- Originality and relevance of the research.
- Clarity and consistency in theoretical and methodological argumentation.
- Quality of writing and compliance with formatting standards.

The panels will take place exclusively online, between 2 PM and 6 PM Brasília time, on August 20, 21, and 22, 2026.

PUBLICATION
All approved and presented works at the event will be published in the Annals of the International Seminar CCL-HD. Furthermore, the most outstanding works will be selected by the organizing committee to compose an e-book to be published later. These publications are free.

Information about the registration process for listeners and work presenters will be released soon on the event website. Participation in the event is free but the registration platform charges a fee of R$ 16.98.

Cases not covered by this call will be resolved by the Event Organizing Committee. Submission of work implies aggreement with all terms of this call. No appeal is possible against the decision of the event organization.
