In this third edition, the UFRN International Tourism Meeting - EITUR 2026 has as its central theme "Tourism and
Climate Change" at a time when there is an urgent need to rethink development models in the face of global environmental challenges, seeking to integrate researchers, students, public managers, entrepreneurs and local communities around practices and policies aimed at sustainability and tourism adaptation to current climate change.
The event will take place between the days June 08 and 12, 2026 at the Central Campus of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, in hybrid model with activities
mostly face-to-face and partial transmission of the event. The event's program includes the
offer of mini-courses and working groups, as well as conferences, lectures, round tables,
conversation, presentation of works, mini-courses and cultural activities, promoting a space for
reflection, dialogue and exchange of experiences based on tourism studies.
The submission of papers has five central thematic axes and one specific one, namely: a) Culture, Society and Tourism; b) Management,
Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Tourism; c) Hospitality, Leisure and Tourist Experience; d)
Tourism Planning and Organization; e) Emerging Themes in Tourism; and f) Tourism, Sustainability
and Climate Change, subdivided into the categories of Undergraduate and Graduate. The thematic axes will be divided into WGs (Working Groups) grouped according to the demands for submissions.
Papers may be submitted in the "Expanded Abstract" or "Full Paper" modalities in the languages Portuguese, English and
Spanish. The Annals 2026 will be published in digital format and open access, containing exclusively the abstract of the works presented in both modalities. The best papers in the "Full Paper" modality are indicated for the Fast Track of partner national and international journals.
Thus, the EITUR has fostered the exchange between
research, communities and the tourist trade, contributing to the improvement of the quality of production
and tourism practices through debates at national and international levels.
