Challenges and Opportunities in Porous Media Multiphase Flow and Contaminant Transport Research - International Conference in honor of "Rien" van Genuchten, on the occasion of his 80th birthday

The event will bring together national and international researchers, students and professionals to discuss challenges and opportunities in the soil, hydrogeologic and environmental disciplines. The conference is held in honor of the 80th birthday of Rien van Genuchten who made significant contributions to porous media science and engineering during his career. 
Discussions will encompass past and ongoing research at various spatial and time scales. The event will facilitate joint research and strengthen collaborative networks for especially young Brazilian researchers, thereby encouraging the development of cleaner and more sustainable technologies in the long term.
