p dir="ltr" style="line-height:1.7999999999999999;text-align: justify;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;">Linguistic diversity is one of many cultural riches in Brazil and in countries that have the Portuguese language as an official language, but still faces invisibility in the educational system. Therefore, this event proposes to discuss the teaching of Portuguese Language from a plurilingual and pluricentric perspective, valuing the multiple linguistic and cultural manifestations present in the national territory and in the Portuguese-speaking space. In line with the guidelines of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG No. 4), the meeting seeks to bring together educators, researchers, indigenous and multilingual communities, managers and public policy makers to reflect on inclusive pedagogical practices and the construction of language policies that respect diversity. This event not only reinforces the relevance of linguistic diversity as an educational resource, but also offers a favorable environment for the construction of strategies that bring together work with the Portuguese language in a more inclusive and plural way, essential for the formation of peaceful, democratic and socially just societies.
