The Brazilian Congress of Quantum Sciences and Technologies (CBCTQ 2026), to be held from 21 and 25, 2026, in the Cantareira Innovation District, in Niterói-RJ , represents a strategic milestone for the Brazilian scientific and technological community. The congress is consolidated as the natural evolution of the Workshop-School of Quantum Computing and Information (WECIQ) and do Quantum Computing Workshop (WCQ-UFSC), bringing together in a single forum the complementary trajectories of these two events.
The new format in congress reflects the expansion of Quantum Sciences and Technologies in Brazil and the the need for a broader and interdisciplinary space, capable of integrating fundamental research, technological innovation and strategic applications. The CBCTQ expands the dialogue between areas such as computing, communication, metrology, and quantum information theory, strengthening the articulation between academia, the productive sector and public policies for science and technology.
In 2025, in the context of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, the historical convergence between the two events in the joint realization of the VIII WECIQ | WCQ, in Florianópolis-SC. This edition symbolized the maturity reached by the scientific community and highlighted the need for a more comprehensive and structured forum.
The CBCTQ 2026 scientific program is structured in four major thematic areas, which reflect the scope and interdisciplinarity of Quantum Sciences and Technologies in the current scenario.
Each area contemplates but is not limited to the topics indicated below, encouraging the submission of papers that dialogue with emerging approaches, interdisciplinary perspectives and innovative applications.
| Quantum Computing | Quantum Communication |
| Fundamentals and complexity of quantum computing | Quantum cryptography and post-quantum cryptography |
| Quantum algorithms and optimization | Quantum key distribution and protocol security |
| Quantum machine learning and hybrid methods | Quantum networks, repeaters, and quantum memories |
| Hardware, architecture, control, and fault tolerance | Architectures, protocols, and quantum-classical integration |
| Quantum Information | Quantum Metrology |
| Quantum information theory and quantifiers | Fundamentals of quantum metrology and limits of precision |
| Quantum channels, open systems, and noise | Quantum sensing and interferometry |
| Quantum Features, Entanglement, and Physical Fundamentals | Compressed and tangled states for metrological gain |
| Quantum error correction codes | Characterization, calibration and quantum instrumentation |
