Instituto São Vicente is honored to invite the academic community, researchers, students and other interested parties to the VII Philosophical Café. The event consolidates itself as a space of high relevance for intellectual debate, promoting the articulation between the philosophical tradition and the demands of the current scenario.
In this edition, the discussion table will address the theme: "The relevance of Thomas Aquinas for contemporary thought". The objective is to analyze the legacy of Thomism, investigating how its conceptual matrices offer theoretical subsidies to understand the ethical, scientific and anthropological dilemmas of modernity and postmodernity.
Guest Speaker:
Prof. Dr. Ivo Fernando da Costa
- PhD in Philosophy from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), with a specialty in History of Philosophy and transition from Scholasticism to Modernity.
- Coordinator and professor of the Graduate Program in Thomistic Philosophy at Catholic Church of Santa Catarina.
- Researcher with an emphasis on the foundations of ethics, scientific epistemology and the reception of Aristotle in the Middle Ages.
