IEEE GRSS Young Professionals & ISPRS Student Consortium Summer School

The IEEE GRSS Young Professionals (YP) & ISPRS Student Consortium Summer School are events organized jointly in Brazil and supported by the two main international organizations in the field of remote sensing:

• IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society: is a non-profit society and its area of interest is the theory, concepts and scientific and engineering techniques applied to Remote Sensing of Earth, ocean, atmosphere and space. In addition, it is interested in the processing, interpretation and dissemination of this spatial information.

• International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing:is a non-governmental organization that aims to develop international cooperation for the advancement of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing and its applications.

The IEEE GRSS-YP and the ISPRS-SS traditionally occur abroad annually and have as main feature the integration of students and researchers in the area of remote sensing at the regional level. In other words, the regional sections and chapters of the IEEE / GRSS and ISPRS are responsible for organizing the events in their respective countries.

In Brazil, the joint event has been organized since 2015 when it was held on the premises of the Meteorological System of Paraná (SIMEPAR) and of the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), both in the city of Curitiba (PR). In 2020, therefore, we will have the sixth edition of the event.
