The Conference Biology of Butterflies (BOB) has grown since the 1970s to become the global leading forum on Lepidoptera. For the first time, BOB will cross the South Atlantic to interact directly with the extraordinary neotropical fauna, in a special joint edition with the Neotropical Lepidoptera Meeting (ELEN), a key regional event since 2005, which returns to its origins in Campinas.
We are pleased to announce a new edition of both events: the X Biology of Butterflies (X-BOB) and the IX Neotropical Lepidoptera Meeting (IX-ELEN), to be held from March 30 to April 3, 2027, at Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP), Campinas, São Paulo, Brazil.
This joint edition represents a historic milestone for global lepidopterology. Bringing BOB to Brazil elevates research on Lepidoptera in Latin America and highlights the Neotropical region as one of the most vibrant biodiversity hotspots on the planet.

Registrations will be organized into three batches, with different values according to the registration period. Due to the event''''s physical space limitations, the number of places is limited for each category, subject to availability.
Registration values are defined in reais (BRL). For payments made in other currencies, the final amount may vary according to the current rate.
Note on the "Undergraduate Students" and "Graduate Students" categories
In addition to students regularly enrolled in undergraduate or graduate courses, people who have completed their undergraduate, master''''s or doctorate may also apply in the student categories, according to the last degree obtained, people who have completed their undergraduate, master''''s or doctorate up to 2 years ago, provided that do not have a scholarship or other type of academic funding, nor institutional and/or employment ties.
Thus, graduates who have obtained the title up to 2 years ago and who are not currently enrolled in a graduate course may apply in the "undergraduate student" category. Likewise, masters and doctors who have obtained their respective degrees up to 2 years ago and who do not have a scholarship or other type of academic funding may apply in the "graduate student" category.
To prove the condition, it will be necessary to present the diploma or document proving the last degree obtained, as well as a handwritten statement attesting to the absence of a scholarship, other type of academic funding or institutional and/or employment relationship.

Global South discount
Participants from the Global South will be able to use a 25% discount intended for first registrants who are LINKED TO AN INSTITUTION LOCATED IN A COUNTRY IN THE GLOBAL SOUTH*. The number of coupons is limited.
To use the discount, the participant must present a document proving their link with the informed institution. If they do not have an institutional link, they can present proof of residence, accompanied by a handwritten statement stating that they are not linked to any institution. Identification documents (RG, CPF, CNH) do not serve as proof of link!
