Resumo
The field of organic electronic devices is a multidisciplinary area of science and technology that spans from molecular synthesis to device engineering, including ultrathin film processing and the investigation of their chemical and physical properties. Organic electronics (OE) has enabled the development of lightweight, flexible, and potentially environmentally friendly electronic technologies. Beyond the commercial success of organic electroluminescent devices, OE is paving the way for other promising technologies, particularly organic photovoltaics (OPVs) and organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs). In this talk, we present a brief overview of the state of the art of these two device classes, highlighting recent advances in materials, device architectures, and performance. We will also discuss selected results obtained in laboratories associated with the INCT of Organic and Sustainable Electronics, illustrating current research directions and challenges in the field.
