Summary
In recent years, hybrid perovskites have been developed, which have an organic and polar structure (with a permanent electric dipole) CH3NH3. In these materials, the inorganic part is a lead halide (PbI3, PbBr3 or PbCl3). The photovoltaic performance of these perovskites is due to dipole fluctuations of the organic part CH3NH3 [1]. This research shows that it is possible to improve the stability of perovskite MAPbI3 by properly incorporating salophene atoms into its matrix, thus the results indicate that perovskite MAPbI3/salophene has better stability. This organic ligand can coordinate with the Pb (II) metal center in tridentate or tetradentate form through a different combination of any nitrogen or oxygen donor atom, and it can also be in mono-deprotonated or neutral form [2]. Consequently, it is sterically ideal for establishing tetrel bonding interactions with electron-rich nitrogen our bromide atoms. The improvement is linked to the structural transition from the tetragonal to the cubic phase, a more stable structure as shown by the X-ray diffraction (XRD) results [2,3]. The research is carried out in the Laboratories of New Materials and Photophysics of the Institute of Physics of the UFMT, also in the Multiuser Laboratory of Analytical Techniques (LAMUTA/ICET/UFMT), Faculty of Geosciences of the UFMT. In this research, we performed the preparation of the perovskite precursor solution, the deposition of films by spincoating, and characterization, to study the structure and photophysical behavior of MAPbI3/salophene. The perovskites were deposited on transparent conductive fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) substrates, the films were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-vis absorption, and also emission (PL) and excitation (PLE) photoluminescence. Solar cell devices based on perovskite containing salophene are being developed in collaboration with the research group from the Laboratory of Nanotechnology and Solar Energy (LNES) – UNICAMP/SP. The research also reinforces the study of the stability of the optical and electronic properties of this perovskite, in order to understand the mechanism responsible for the degradation of this material, this point can be important for us to build materials with better stability and photovoltaic efficiency.
