Resumo

This workpaper aims to analyze territory-body-land-water as a conceptual unit and political, paradigma and praxis for the defense of territory and life. The conceptual unity of territory-body-land-water presents, in itself, a dimension of questioning the logics of dispossession of capitalism, while rearticulating the ontological unity of nature – non-humans and humans, in the rupture of the dichotomous and fragmented character of the modern Western capitalist paradigm. To this end, it presents the ontological and epistemic matrices that underpin this conceptual unit in the naming of land, territories, and a philosophy of existence that incorporates an ecological critique put forward by indigenous women, women from rural areas, women from the water, and women from the forests. Analyze how this conceptual unity establishes a counterpoint to the conception of territory under the logic of capital. Therefore, a fundamental premise is that territory-body-earth-water incorporates a political ontology that is antagonistic to the ontology of capital. The research methodology is based on the theoretical and analytical elaborations of movements of indigenous women, women from rural areas, and women from waters and forests, including their communiqués, oral reports, and political position documents. Some experiences from Latin America and Southeast Asia will be presented as emblematic in shaping the territory-body-land-water as a conceptual unit and paradigm for territorial and life defense. This conceptual unit is, in itself, a fundamental contribution to the field of critical agrarian studies and territorial sociology, especially at a historical moment of socio-environmental crisis as a phenomenon that expresses a civilizational crisis caused by capitalism and the modern Western paradigm. In the face of the climate emergency and false solutions to the crises, the category of territory-body-land-water emerges with disruptive potential in the ecological critique of the capitalist conception of development. In the following lines, we attempt to present this ecological critique.
