Resumo

This study examines how stakeholders in Switzerland perceive interactions between managed honeybees and wild bees and which measures they consider relevant for improving coexistence. Using stakeholder mapping and twenty-five in-depth qualitative interviews with actors from agriculture, beekeeping, conservation, research, and public authorities, the study analyses competing understandings of bee competition. The findings show substantial divergence in perceptions, with competition mainly framed around access to floral resources, while pathogen transmission is rarely emphasized. Despite disagreements, stakeholders identify several measures to enhance coexistence, including improved apiary planning, increased floral resources, and strengthened dialogue between stakeholder groups. The results highlight the importance of addressing social perspectives and knowledge differences in the governance of pollinator coexistence.
