Since 2013, the Postgraduate Program in Veterinary Sciences (PPVS) has organized the International Symposium in Veterinary Sciences (ISVS), fostering the integration of faculty and students from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ) and institutions across Brazil and beyond. Now in its ninth edition, held from December 9 to 11, 2024, the symposium continued its mission of disseminating high-impact scientific and technological advancements in veterinary sciences, contributing to scientific progress in Rio de Janeiro, and reinforcing international collaboration.

With the theme "Innovation and Challenges in Preventive Veterinary Medicine," this edition highlighted cutting-edge approaches to emerging health threats, emphasizing the critical role of preventive veterinary medicine in disease control, animal welfare, and food safety. The event featured keynote lectures, scientific presentations, and discussions that fostered research partnerships, serving as a vital platform for academic exchange and societal impact.
