The 2026 AIESEP Specialist Seminar, themed "Physical Education and Sports Pedagogy for Sustainable Development," is part of the international agenda of the International Association for Physical Education in Higher Education. It builds upon a well-established tradition of thematic seminars dedicated to the collaborative production of knowledge in the fields of Physical Education and Sports Pedagogy. Held in partnership with the UNESCO Chair in Physical Education and Sports Pedagogy for Sustainable Development—led by Ann MacPhail (University of Limerick, Ireland), who is also part of the event's organizing team—the seminar brings together researchers, faculty members, and students from the Global North and Global South to discuss contemporary challenges in the field through the lenses of critical pedagogies, social justice, and sustainability.
The Seminar will take place in the city of Vitória, Brazil, from December 2nd to December 3rd.
