As tenants push for more flexibility post-covid, landlords and developers are working to make their buildings more ‘elastic’. This presentation, based on research by Hassell, explores ways to address the demand for flexibility. The research outlines six strategies that landlords, developers, and building operators can employ to increase the flexibility and desirability of their assets.

Meet the Speakers


Based out of New York, Daniel is a senior researcher at Hassell specializing in workplace research. Prior to joining Hassell, Daniel was the Director of Research at WeWork, and a research assistant for Antoni Gaudí’s Sagrada Família. He originally studied architecture in New Zealand and later did a PhD at RMIT University in Australia. Daniel is a regular columnist for Architect Magazine in the United States and his research on the workplace has appeared in a variety of publications including Wired, Fast Company, and the Harvard Business Review.

Renato Fusaro is an experienced Corporate Real Estate executive, translating business plans into real estate strategies to optimize business success. Current Cargill Real Estate & Storage Leader in Latin America. Prior to Cargill, Renato was responsible for all real estate activities in Latin America and Puerto Rico for Johnson & Johnson, General Motors for South America and Citigroup in Brazil. He served as president of the CoreNet Global Brazil Chapter from 2018-2020 and is currently our Vice President.
