VI Colóquio Internacional de Filosofia da Neurociência, Filosofia Experimental, Inteligência Artificial e Neuroética

The VI International Colloquium on Philosophy of Neuroscience/XI Meeting of the Working Group on Philosophy of Neuroscience of ANPOF is an international and interdisciplinary scientific event dedicated to strengthening and internationalizing Brazilian research at the interface between philosophy of neuroscience, experimental neuroscience, ethics of artificial intelligence and related areas. The proposed edition focuses on studies on consciousness, artificial intelligence, free will, and decision-making processes — strategic themes in the contemporary scientific landscape, with direct implications for technological innovation, public policymaking, and ethical debates around emerging technologies. The event aims to expand high-quality scientific production, promote the updating of the state of the art and consolidate national and international research networks. By bringing together Brazilian and international researchers of recognized excellence, the Colloquium promotes long-term collaborations, the training of highly qualified human resources and the joint presentation of research projects to national and international funding agencies. The event contributes to the development of conceptual and analytical frameworks applicable to cognitive and computational modeling, automated decision-making, and ethical evaluation of artificial intelligence-based systems. Discussions on AI explainability, accountability, and governance provide relevant scientific contributions to the regulation of emerging technologies and the responsible use of technological innovation in strategic sectors such as health, justice, education, and the digital economy. In line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the Colloquium strengthens the scientific basis necessary for ethical, socially responsible and sustainable technological development, expanding the scientific and institutional relevance of the area both in the national and international contexts.
